The department provides a diagnostic and treatment service to patients with vascular disorders – diseases relating to the blood vessels.

In the first instance, referrals to the Vascular department will need to be made by your GP, addressed to consultant Mr Stephen Baxter and sent to the Mottistone. This can be faxed or posted. 

Subsequently, patients can ring 01983 552348 to make an appointment at Mr Baxter's Island clinic

I have been covering Vascular Surgery Services on the Isle of Wight since 2002.

I have set up the present local anaesthetic varicose vein service atSt Mary's Hospital where the emphasis is on quality and comfort .This is a quality assessed and audited service.

I have been involved in training consultant colleagues in the use of treatment techniques for varicose veins.

My other interest is the management of the complications of the foot in diabetes. I have been involved with a number of National and International conference presentations. As a vascular surgeon I also manage the other peripheral arterial and venous disorders that occur in our specialty
